Tuesday, Oct 17 All aboard + The night before

The morning of embarkation got off to a rather raining start. While Gary and I were frantically packing last minute items, it was pouring outside. Luckily by the time the limo pulled up to the sidewalk, the rain had magically stopped as if the heavens opened up for the start of our journey.              

Jennifer, my bridesmaid and photographer was ready and waiting in front of her beautiful home on a street lined with colourful autumn leaves. She was the last pick up stop before heading to Canada place.

Gary was thoroughly enjoying the ride as he doesn’t have to drive or handle luggage, lucky guy! I of course have a million things on my “to do list” to worry about as I looked out the window.

We arrived at the cruiseship terminal around 11:00 the Eurodam is docked at Canada Place all ready to receive her passengers.  I know from previous experience, the earlier we checked and clear customs the  earlier I get to have lunch.

Negotiating up the gangway was rather challenging as I had balloons, wedding stuff and just a few wine bottles to juggle between very narrow paths. Someone should really use a different scale when designing these!

 They say It’s unlucky to see the blushing groom the night before the wedding, So I’m bunking with Jen and 2 balloons tonight .

 The kids came by the cabin once we settled in and gave us a bon voyage package. Little did I know how much I needed the contents later.

The Eurodam pulled out of port @ 4pm with the setting sun still peeking out among the fast moving clouds. All of us were on the observation deck waving goodbye to the Lions Gate bridge setting sail in to the Straight of Juan de fuca. 

Once in the open ocean, things - shall we say - got a lot rougher on board. First came the waves during dinner - hold on to your drinks. Then the bachelor and bachelorette party! We’re sworn to secrecy so let’s just say I got some lucky moola and someone else maybe luckier tomorrow.  C u tmw as the bride needs her beauty sleep now.
