Thursday, Oct 19 - The Pool party

It’s hard to believe the last day on the cruise is already here for our guests. Seems like the party just got started and already we are whispering the f word - farewell. Gary and I found out in the morning some guests were up late dancing, enjoying a few AND even won moola at the casino! Ah to be young again.....




We checked out the pool and hot tub early -the kids look good in their bathing suits don’t they?





Gary & I rented two private cabanas on the Lido deck the day after the wedding so our guests can enjoy a last minute catch up before dis-embarkment tomorrow. We ordered a  around of non-alcoholic or regular mai tai’s which helped put smiles on faces for the group photo.




It would be timely to extend a very big thanks to the entire wedding party for their help with set up and participation to make this event happen. Without you our wedding would not have gone that smoothly. A huge personal thanks to Jennifer for agreeing to be our fearless photographer. Jennifer endeared many challenging conditions in order to capture special moments of our event behind the camera.  I am very fortunate and blessed to have her as a super doper friend, mentor and as  my maid of honour. 





Finally, thanks to all our guests for being on board and be with us as we set sail together..  We hope you have enjoyed the experiences of a wedding ceremony at sea as much as we have. Gary and I are so fortunate to have you in our lives for so many years and we hope you made some new friends on this trip along the way.

Friday, Oct 27 Puerto Chiapas - Mexico

Gary and I are officially half way through cruise as of today and we are technically still in North America.  The port of Chiapas is eight miles from the international boundary between Mexico and Guatemala the gate gateway to ancient Mayans. ( BTWGary is the one that inserts maps.) As we pulled in to the dock the day started full of excitement as we had a tour scheduled to see Mayan ruins.  Gary and I got breakfast then headed down the gangway to the bus area.  Unfortunately, when we got there, there was an announcement about a teacher’s strike in town and all the traffic was blocked from the city to the cruise port.   The only thing left to do is stay close to the ship and enjoy a few coronas by the pool.  Not really too worried, it’s another day in paradise.  We spent the day pretty much relaxing by a pool drinking Mexican beer.  Remember no ice rule.    Siesta time! so Gary took advantage of the current situation he is famous for $3 beers ...

Tuesday, Oct 24 Puerto Vallarta + Banderas Bay

We had three full “At Sea Days”after everyone go off the ship at Frisco.  The seas were calm, the temperature was raising and my tummy is always full.  Does that sound like a honeymoon or what? Not much to tell you about our sea days except we try different restaurants every night.  Okay, I do excerises as I go from breakfast to lunch.  Doesn’t that count? Speaking of excerises, today we arrive at the California of Mexico, Puerto Vallarta.  Before the ship is even docked, vendors are already lined up at the crack of dawn to nab a good spot next to the gangway where passengers off load.  If only they knew all I need was something from Walmart handy as it’s located next to a big mall right across the street. It’s 8 in the morning and the temperature is already humid and the temperature is climbing to almost 30c.  Beautiful as it is, there is something very unsettling about what this little fishing village became after Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton ...

Friday, Oct 20 - Frisco

I know it’s cheezy to take photos of sunrises. However, today is an exception. Laying in bed while my hero is snoring away like a fog horn, I caught the sun on the horizon just as we cross the Bay bridge to the entrance of San Fran. It was a beautiful sunny morning as the ship arrives at Pier 27 the early announcement for passengers disembarking in SF finally finally awakes my king. Gary heads straight for caffeine while I get our gear ready for a day of exploration. The girls were to meet us at Pier 39  where they are storing their luggage for the day so we can have a one day family vacation.  They are staying for the weekend to check out the music scene, craft beers and of course shopping. My mission is to have just a small taste of The city’s famous seafood chowders and sour dough bread - not necessarily in that order.  All that yummy and fresh seafood on display made me so hangry I need to eat PDQ.  Luckily we all agreed on a...
