Wednesday, Oct 18 Ceremony at Sea

Unlike most brides to be, I slept like a log through the night. I was already for my breakie and hair appointment by 11:00. My hairdresser was a lovely gal originally from Sri Lanka. We connect right away and chatted about India and lord Buddha while she worked magic with my hair. What more could one ask for?

The wedding ceremony is @ 2:00 pm so there was plenty of time to get ready.  Leanna, my very talented make-up assistant managed to put false  lashes on me while the rocking of the ship made it nearly impossible to happen.  Luckily the sweetheart did it !  There were more loose lashes on the carpet then on my lids. We didn’t have a wedding rehearsal prior to getting on board so i just had to trust the crew to handle the details from here on.

The four of us arrived at the Tamarind Lounge on the highest ship deck overlooking the pool area is where the celemony was to take place.
Jen lead the way first as the maid of honour then me and my two nephews as ushers followed after.  I was amazed the organizers did a super job of decorating the room. Fresh red rose pedals lined the way to the podium where my love was waiting tenderly with his best man.  Next to them was another handsome man waiting- The officiant named Mario. (or was it Fabio) Sorry ladies, no photo at the time of publication, you’ll just have to check back.

After the big heavy, everyone toasted with sparklings and chocolate dipped tuxedos followed by lots of photos.

By late afternoon, livened up the pace by having our first dance in an elegant lounge appropriately named “The Gallery”. Beautiful paintings with gilded frames made a perfect backdrop as we danced to our first song “waiting for a girl like you” by Foreigner. Even Mmmmaarrio popped back in to have a few shakes with the bride. Oh my!

Reception followed after working up an appetite at the Pinnacle Grille - an intimate section in the restaurant was reserved just for our wedding party of 23. The head table was located in the middle of the room surrounded by cozy banquets that sat four people. Colourful images of world explorers lined the glass walls and even an image of a pair of white doves appear appropriately behind us.

After Gary and I made our speeches and toasts, all of the sudden 2 handsome guys in uniforms came to congratulate us out of now where.
Where were these guys when I needed them earlier?

Dinner was delicious and fulfilling especially when there is a lucky 18oz of something on the menu. Decadent dessert is always a welcomed last course to end the evening off stylishly.

Finally the day ended early on a happy note. Gary and I headed back to our little honeymoon cabin. Waiting inside was something very sweet courtesy of Mario.
